I set a new personal record today – 5 hours of playing

I was performing at The Raffles Hotel today, helping to sub for the regular harpist for afternoon tea. The performance hours are four 45-minutes sets of playing, from 1.30pm-5.30pm. I accidentally started performing at 12.30pm, mistaking the start time with another hotel’s. At 4.30pm, tired, I was packing up when staff (thankfully) reminded me I had another hour to go. I set up the harp again and was squeezing-in 5-mins of rest when a photographer asked if he could take my photos. So he snapped some photos and I began playing my fifth 45-minute set. The duration was a challenge and a new personal record. Tiring as the set was, I was thankful for the day. Had a good time chatting with guests (they were particularly friendly today!) and someone complimented my dress. Overall, it was a fulfilling day.
